Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris)

Mugwort — Artemisia vulgaris

A plant of moonlit folklore, ancient herbal traditions and old European wayside paths, mugwort has held a fascinating place in botanical history for centuries. Associated with Artemis, the moon, lucid dreaming and traditional protective customs, it appears throughout European herbal literature and folk practices. In fact it is the herb that is mentioned most frequently across the centuries of literature we have recorded in our Ancestral Library.

Its deeply divided, silvery-backed leaves and distinctive aromatic character have made it a familiar botanical in historical apothecaries and traditional ritual practices.
